The Student Home™ is a charming and well-maintained house with lots of character. Each room is unique. The house and neighborhood provide a comfortable, safe and homelike atmosphere in which students live together and share their experience in the USA, learn to appreciate other cultures, and make lifetime friends from all over the world.

The Student Home™ is a large, two-story building with 8 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. The living room, bedrooms and the deck on the second floor allow for stunning views of the nearby mountains.

Make Friends easily
All residents are students like you! It's easy to make friends from all over the world when living together, playing ping-pong, sitting in the sun, or cooking dinner together.

Privacy
Students can also enjoy their privacy in their bedrooms rooms where they have desks to study.

Beautiful and Private Garden
The tall hedge around the property provides students with privacy when enjoying the Southern California sunshine on one of the seven patios.  There are many fruit trees (students may enjoy eating fresh oranges, tangerines, loquats and persimmons).

Management Services
The San Rafael Student Home™ is fully managed by a friendly manager and an on-site assistant who ensure that all students are well cared for and feel comfortable at all times. Our cleaning service ensures that the house is always clean, and our maintenance team quickly conducts any needed repairs and keeps the garden beautifully maintained.

Male/Female Separation
The house is divided into a male and a female section.

Safety and Security
A high fence, locked gate and motion detector controlled lights around the building provide safety and security. Students have their own keys for their bedrooms and exterior doors.  The Santa Barbara Student Home™ is located in a safe residential area near downtown.

There are many rooms where students can mingle, practice their English, and relax:

• Living room for students to sit together, watch TV (there is a large cable TV with DVD & video & CD stereo), and practice their English etc.

• The Dining Room with large dining table allows the students to enjoy meals together. A large patio is just outside the dining room, allowing students to enjoy their meals under the warm Southern California sun.

• The Kitchen provides all the necessary equipment and utensils (including stove, microwave, refrigerator, toaster, coffee maker, pans, pots, dishes and utensils) for the students to cook their favorite meals.

• For the girls only, there is a separate Dine-In Kitchenette.

• The Recreation Room is an excellent place for the students to mingle. There is a ping-pong table, as well as a lounge area with sofa.

• 7 Patios and a Yard provide opportunities to study outdoors, have a barbeque, or simply enjoy the Southern Californian sunshine. There is patio furniture, and a tall surrounding hedge providing privacy.

• A Laundry Room with coin-operated washer and dryer is easily accessible for all students.

• There are plenty of Storage Areas for the students to keep groceries, luggage, shoes and coats.
 

Though all students live in the same house, there is clear male/female separation with the bedrooms located in distinct sections.

Female Section
The Female Section is located in a separate part of the building. There are separate entrance doors, and there is a lockable door to the rest of the building for extra privacy. In this section there is a separate dine-in kitchen and two bathrooms.

     • The Mission Room (2 students) has its own outside
     entrance door and patio.

     • The Summerland Room (3 students) is very large,
     has a high ceiling, its own outside entrance door and
     patio, and its own bathroom.

     • The Bacara Room (1 student) is connected to the
     Summerland Room and students share the same
     entrance and bathroom. However, the Bacara Room
     is beautifully decorated with many pictures, and it
     provides extra privacy.
 
     Special Rate: the student in this room pays only the
     double occupancy rate!


Male Section
The Male Section is located upstairs, adjacent to the living room. Students share one bathroom.

• The Harbor Room (2 students) is a very bright room with large windows, a high ceiling and beautiful views.

• The Channel Islands Room (2 students) has its own patio providing beautiful views and allowing students to study outside.

• The Shoreline Room (2 students) is a spacious bedroom with a large closet.



Section Three
Depending on demand, this section is either male or female. It is adjacent to the dining room. Students share one bathroom.

• The Dolphin Room (3 students) has its own outside entrance door and porch.

• The Palm Room (2 students) has a skylight in addition to the regular window, allowing views of the stars and the nightly sky from the bed.
